Hooram Polymer Pars
Production of the highest quality sanitary and agricultural super absorbents
Super Absorbent Polymer, or SAP for short, is a special polymer compound that has a very high ability to absorb water. This material can absorb up to 500 times its weight in water, even when under pressure. Nowadays, super absorbent has found various applications: Health matters, agriculture, production of diapers and sanitary pads, in electrical engineering, oil, improving soil evaporation rate, etc.
The production of baby diapers accounts for the largest consumption of polymer superabsorbents, so that about 90% of superabsorbents produced in the world are used in the manufacture and supply of baby diapers. By using these polymers in baby diapers, the consumption of cellulose fibers can be significantly saved. The use of diapers that are made of polymer superabsorbents will keep the child’s body dry for a longer period of time, and side effects such as skin inflammation, irritation, and infection will be significantly reduced. In general, the average consumption of polymer superabsorbents in each diaper is between 10 and 25 grams.
Polymer super absorbents, while having a high water absorption speed and capacity, act as miniature water reservoirs, and when necessary, the roots easily have the water they need at their disposal. The amount of water stored in the soil depends on its capacity. In addition to increasing the water holding capacity in light soils, polymer superabsorbents can also solve the permeability problem of heavy soils. Polymer superabsorbents have a special place in agriculture and horticulture, forestry, green space, and soil erosion control, since they quickly absorb water ten times their weight and turn into a high-strength gel.
Artificial snow can be used to prepare ski slopes. There are two ways to make artificial snow from super absorbent. The superabsorbent is inflated to about 100-120 times with water, then it is dehumidified with a thickness of about 15 cm on a wide ramp and a cooling system. After that, the frozen gel is crushed into certain sizes. In another method, the superabsorbent is mixed with water, natural snow and ice particles, and then the resulting mixture is dried. The best results are obtained when the superabsorbent is 5% of the total composition. Hard snow is obtained by the copolymerization of acrylic acid and acrylamide and by increasing the cross-linking agent, and it can be poured directly on the ski surface or spread by a gun.

SDP Global, a subsidiary of Sanyo Chemical, is the world leading manufacturer specialized in SAP, and SANWET is SDP Global’s brand with more than 40 years experience.
SANWET has more than 20 types of SAP that match various customers’ needs.
SANWET is supported by three core technologies:
- Precise Polymerization
- Particle Shape Control
- Surface Modification
The good properties of these absorbent hydrogels in terms of absorption rate, speed, gel strength and the cheapness of acrylic monomers have made this family of super absorbents attractive.
Mechanism of absorption
SAP are crosslinked networks of flexible polymer chains. The polymer chains are shrunk befor absorbing water. When water comes into contact polymer chains, these chains are expanded. Water is trapped tightly within networks.
